The fact that in Holland, doctors have the final say in who stays/who goes is an abhorrent situation!

Yes it is similar to wanting parenting regulated...who watches the watchers...ugh its all so f*cked up!

Richard
Yes, totally agree, thats what it comes down to, 'the sane individual is not considered competent to determine the ultimate outcome of his/her life'. That really makes my blood boil, because it is exactly what you said, the group decides that the sufferer must continue to suffer because the fucking group cant make up its mind...its so screwed up and crazy and there is room for abuse which gives the group more reason to not make up its mind! Surely somehow there must be a way to take individual cases on their...well I was going to say merits, but how inappropriate, on their level of suffering and then somehow decide from there whether help can be offered! Its a minefield!!

What an unbelievable shock Chantal must have gone through to realise that she must secretly kill herself to escape the terrible destruction of her body, have no one by your side or they will be implicated, no one can help you except yourself! She was blind and really suffering, poor thing, bloody hell how cruel it is.

I keep thinking of all the baby boomers in the world, of which I am one, coming up to the dying time of our lives, well, somewhere in the next 20 years if we're lucky to last that long, and a lot of us will be in Chantal's position with a long suffering period of decay before we die. I hope I go quickly and quietly and not have to suffer like she did, and not have to kill myself alone like she did!T T Eyeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08433060115732615503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3678690848926527591.post-13624135327804870392008-03-28T08:00:00.000+09:002008-03-28T08:00:00.000+09:00Bottom line: the sane individual is not considere...Bottom line: the sane individual is not considered competent to determine the ultimate outcome of his/her life.

Why?

Because the rest of us should hew to the general social view, as the French Prez said, "I think one must have the modesty to recognize that society cannot answer all these questions.."

But it remains that the individual whose life and suffering is at stake IS NOT TO HAVE A SAY. Even though 'society' cannot make up its friggin' mind!!!

Why?

Because the individual is subordinate to the group.

If the group cannot decide, the individual must suffer while the Group decides. "Maybe such suffering is a good thing"!

Yah Sure. "Fuck R.i.g.h.t OFF!"

Consider how despicable that is, if you were the individual in agony!!!Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02479600882274172677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3678690848926527591.post-64910297949525515932008-03-27T14:08:00.000+09:002008-03-27T14:08:00.000+09:00Was so very glad to see your newest post! There is always room for abuse and enough evil bastards out there to take advantage.

Similar to wanting parenting regulated but who watches the watchers. Some people don't deserve to be parents.

Those doctor's don't deserve to be doctor's.

Fortunately we have laws to protect children. Perhaps the laws haven't changed enough to protect the vulnerable.

It is sickening that doctor's who should "do no harm" are actively taking the lives of those who are INCONVENIENT!Fieryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08681456246185901798noreply@blogger.com
